Política de privacidad

Para escribirte un libro necesitamos datos muy tuyos: cuándo y dónde naciste, y a veces lo mismo de la gente que querés. Acá está, sin vueltas, qué guardamos, para qué, quién más lo ve y cómo pedir que lo borremos.

1. Quién es responsable

Celestial Bound es un proyecto independiente operado desde Costa Rica, y es el responsable de esta base de datos según la Ley N.º 8968 de Protección de la Persona frente al tratamiento de sus datos personales. Detrás hay una persona, no una corporación; si necesitás sus datos identificatorios —para un reclamo, o para presentarte ante PRODHAB— escribinos a la dirección de abajo y te los damos.

2. Qué datos guardamos

Tu cuenta

Iniciás sesión con Google. De ahí recibimos y guardamos tu nombre, tu correo, tu foto de perfil y el identificador que Google le da a tu cuenta. Nunca vemos ni guardamos tu contraseña.

Los datos de nacimiento de las personas del libro

De cada persona sobre la que se escribe un libro guardamos el nombre, la fecha de nacimiento, la hora (si la sabés), el lugar de nacimiento, el género y el idioma. Con eso se calcula la carta natal, que es lo que el libro interpreta. En los libros de pareja y de familia guardamos además el rol de cada persona (mamá, hijo, abuela…), porque cambia cómo se escriben los capítulos de vínculo.

Y guardamos lo que se ESCRIBE con eso: el libro entero —su texto, su plan, sus ilustraciones y el PDF— más los resúmenes y el capítulo de muestra. Es prosa sobre una persona concreta, así que la tratamos como dato personal y no como archivo suelto.

Cómo se ve esa persona

Si escribís una descripción física para que las ilustraciones se le parezcan, guardamos ese texto. Podés dejarlo en blanco y el libro se ilustra igual.

Si en vez de escribirlo subís una foto desde la tienda o tu cuenta: la foto viaja una sola vez a un modelo que la traduce a palabras, y esas palabras quedan a la vista para que las edites. Esa foto no se guarda — ni en nuestra base de datos ni en nuestro almacenamiento. Lo que se conserva es el texto.

Hay un solo camino distinto y lo decimos: en la consola interna con la que retocamos un libro a mano, una foto sí puede quedar guardada y usarse como referencia visual para las ilustraciones. No es parte de la compra y no ocurre sin que nos lo pidas.

Tu pedido

Qué libro compraste, en qué idioma, el monto, la moneda, el estado del pago, los identificadores que nos devuelve la pasarela y, si corresponde, la dedicatoria del regalo o la dirección de envío. Los datos de tu tarjeta no pasan por nuestros servidores y no los guardamos: el cobro entero ocurre en Creem (ver la sección 5).

Soporte

El reporte que se guarda cuando nos contás un problema, para que lo lea una persona. El panel de ayuda —las preguntas frecuentes y el estado de tus pedidos— funciona sin inteligencia artificial y sin mandar nada a ningún lado. Si además está abierto el chat con asistente, lo que escribas ahí sí viaja al modelo (sección 5) y queda guardado.

Lista de espera y capítulo gratis

Si dejás tu correo para que te avisemos de la edición impresa, guardamos el correo y desde qué página lo dejaste. Si pedís el capítulo de muestra, guardamos el capítulo generado junto a tu correo, para que puedas volver a leerlo y para no gastar dos veces en generarlo.

Datos técnicos

El servidor deja registros de operación (dirección IP, navegador, fecha y hora, qué se pidió). Los usamos para diagnosticar errores y detectar abusos, no para perfilarte.

3. Para qué los usamos

Escribir e ilustrar tu libro: es el uso principal y el único que necesita los datos de nacimiento.
Entregártelo: guardarlo en tu cuenta, mostrártelo en el lector y dejarte bajar el PDF.
Cobrarte y llevar el registro del pedido.
Escribirte sobre tu pedido: que recibimos el pago, que el libro está listo, que confirmaste tu lugar en la lista de espera, y que recibimos el reporte que abriste en soporte. Son correos de servicio, no publicidad.
Atenderte cuando escribís a soporte.
Sostener el servicio: seguridad, respaldos y arreglo de errores.

La base legal es el contrato (comprar el libro) para todo lo que hace falta para entregártelo, y tu consentimiento para lo que es opcional: la lista de espera, el capítulo gratis y los datos de otras personas que cargues.

Lo que nunca hacemos: vender tus datos, alquilarlos, cederlos a intermediarios de datos, usarlos para publicidad, publicar tu libro ni mostrárselo a nadie más que a vos.

4. Datos de otras personas, y de menores

Un libro de pareja o de familia se escribe con datos de gente que no es la que compra. Cuando cargás a otra persona, declarás que podés hacerlo: porque te dio permiso o porque sos su madre, padre o representante legal. Es tu responsabilidad, no la nuestra, y te pedimos que le muestres esta política.

Los libros de recién nacido y los de familia incluyen menores de edad a propósito. Sus datos los carga siempre una persona adulta que ejerce la patria potestad o la representación legal. El servicio está dirigido a mayores de 18 años y las cuentas son para ellos — aunque no verificamos la edad de nadie: el inicio de sesión con Google no la informa. Si sabemos que una cuenta es de un menor, la borramos.

Si aparecés en un libro que compró otra persona y querés que borremos tus datos, escribinos a support@celestialbound.com y lo hacemos.

5. Con quién los compartimos

No vendemos nada. Pero el libro no se escribe solo: hay proveedores que procesan estos datos por cuenta nuestra y sólo para lo que sirven acá. Estos son todos, y qué ve cada uno:

El cálculo de la carta natal lo hace un servicio propio: esa parte no sale de nuestra infraestructura. El autocompletado del lugar de nacimiento tampoco te expone: la búsqueda pasa por nuestro servidor, así que quien nos da los nombres de ciudades ve una consulta suelta y nunca tu dirección IP.

También podemos entregar datos si nos lo ordena una autoridad competente por la vía legal, y nada más.

6. Fuera de Costa Rica

Todos esos proveedores están fuera del país, casi todos en Estados Unidos y la Unión Europea. Eso quiere decir que tus datos se procesan en el exterior. Elegimos proveedores que se comprometen contractualmente a protegerlos, pero si eso no te sirve, este servicio no es para vos: sin ellos no hay libro.

7. Cookies y medición

Lo primero, porque es lo que más importa: no vendemos tus datos, no hacemos publicidad, no ponemos píxeles de redes sociales y nadie compra un perfil tuyo acá.

Lo que sí usamos es Google Analytics, en la página de inicio y en la aplicación, para saber cuánta gente llega y qué páginas lee. Pone sus propias cookies (_ga) y le informa a Google tu dirección IP, tu navegador y qué páginas visitaste. No lee tu libro ni tus datos de nacimiento: mide páginas, no contenido. La consola interna con la que trabajamos no lo lleva, a propósito.

Además, al iniciar sesión con Google y al cargar sus tipografías, Google puede poner sus propias cookies. Eso se rige por la política de Google, no por ésta.

Y las nuestras, que son dos y no te siguen a ningún lado:

cb_session — una única cookie, técnica y necesaria, que mantiene tu sesión abierta. Es httpOnly, así que ningún script la puede leer. Se borra cuando cerrás sesión.
cb_lang — no es una cookie: es una preferencia guardada en tu propio navegador para recordar si leés en español o en inglés. No sale de tu equipo.

8. Cuánto tiempo los guardamos, y cómo borrarlo todo

Mientras tengas cuenta. Tu libro y los datos que lo sostienen se conservan para que puedas volver a abrirlo cuando quieras — es lo que compraste.

Cuando querés que se vaya, lo borrás vos, sin pedirnos permiso y sin esperar a nadie: entrá a tu cuenta y usá «Eliminar cuenta». Corre en el momento y no se puede deshacer. Esto es lo que se borra de nuestros sistemas:

Tu cuenta y tus sesiones abiertas.
Los perfiles con los datos de nacimiento, tuyos y de las personas que cargaste.
Tus libros enteros: el texto, el PDF, la portada y las láminas, incluidos los archivos guardados en el servidor.
La descripción física y la foto de referencia, si hubo una.
Tus pedidos, tus conversaciones con el soporte y tu dirección en la lista de espera.

Lo que no podemos prometerte es que desaparezca del universo en ese segundo. Las filas se borran de inmediato; los archivos —PDF, ilustraciones, foto de referencia— se borran enseguida después, y si un almacén no contesta en ese momento, el fallo queda registrado y lo terminamos a mano. Puede quedar además una copia en respaldos por un tiempo acotado, y copias en los proveedores de la sección 5 (el correo que te mandó Resend, la factura en Creem) que se rigen por sus propios plazos.

Tres cosas quedan a propósito, y las decimos completas:

Los registros del pago, por obligaciones contables y fiscales — y además viven en Creem, que es quien facturó.
La marca de que tu correo ya usó su capítulo gratis. El capítulo en sí se borra; queda sólo la dirección, por tiempo indefinido, para que borrar y rehacer la cuenta no sea una forma de pedir capítulos gratis para siempre. Si querés que también la borremos, escribinos y lo hacemos.
Una fila de costos de cada libro generado (cuánto salió, qué modelo, cuántas llamadas). Al darte de baja se le quita el identificador que llevaba tu nombre, así que deja de decir de quién era.

Los registros técnicos del servidor los conservamos poco tiempo y sólo para diagnóstico y seguridad. No te prometemos un plazo exacto porque hoy no hay una rotación fija que podamos garantizar.

9. Tus derechos

La Ley 8968 te da derecho a acceder a tus datos, rectificarlos si están mal, actualizarlos y pedir que se eliminen. También podés revocar el consentimiento que diste, en cualquier momento y sin explicar por qué.

El borrado no hace falta pedirlo: está en tu cuenta, en «Eliminar cuenta», y corre solo (sección 8). Para todo lo demás —acceso, corrección, una copia de lo tuyo— escribinos a support@celestialbound.com desde el correo de tu cuenta. Contestamos dentro de los cinco días hábiles que pide la ley. No cobramos por esto.

Si creés que no te respondimos como corresponde, podés reclamar ante la Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB) de Costa Rica.

Si estás en la Unión Europea o el Reino Unido, escribinos a la misma dirección. Ahí el reglamento te da además derecho a limitar el tratamiento, a oponerte a él y a llevarte una copia de lo tuyo en un formato legible por máquina, y el plazo de respuesta es de un mes. Podés reclamar ante la autoridad de protección de datos de tu país.

Tus datos se procesan fuera de la UE (sección 6). Hoy la base de esa transferencia son los compromisos contractuales de cada proveedor; si querés saber cuál aplica a cuál, pedilo a esa dirección y te lo decimos.

10. Seguridad

Todo el sitio va por HTTPS, la cookie de sesión es httpOnly y cada cuenta sólo puede leer sus propios perfiles, pedidos y libros — está verificado del lado del servidor, no sólo escondido en la pantalla. Aun así, ningún sistema es infalible; si alguna vez hay una brecha que te afecte, te avisamos en los términos que exija la ley aplicable.

11. Cambios

Si esto cambia, cambia la fecha de arriba. Si el cambio es de fondo — datos nuevos, un proveedor nuevo, un uso nuevo — te lo avisamos por correo antes de que aplique.

Privacy policy

Writing you a book takes deeply personal data: when and where you were born, and sometimes the same for the people you love. Here is what we keep, what for, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted.

1. Who is responsible

Celestial Bound is an independent project operated from Costa Rica, and it is the controller of this database under Costa Rican Law No. 8968 on the protection of persons with regard to the processing of their personal data. There is a person behind it, not a corporation; if you need their identifying details — for a claim, or to bring one before PRODHAB — write to the address below and we'll give them to you.

2. What we keep

Your account

You sign in with Google. From it we receive and store your name, email address, profile picture and the account identifier Google assigns you. We never see or store your password.

The birth details of the people in the book

For every person a book is written about we store their name, date of birth, time of birth (if known), place of birth, gender and language. That is what the birth chart is calculated from, and the chart is what the book interprets. For couples and family books we also store each person's role (mother, son, grandmother…), because it changes how the relationship chapters are written.

And we store what gets WRITTEN from it: the whole book — its text, its plan, its illustrations and the PDF — plus the summaries and the sample chapter. It is prose about a specific person, so we treat it as personal data and not as a loose file.

What that person looks like

If you write a physical description so the illustrations resemble them, we store that text. You can leave it blank and the book is still illustrated.

If you upload a photo instead, from the shop or your account: the photo goes once to a model that turns it into words, and those words are shown to you so you can edit them. That photo is not stored — not in our database and not in our storage. What we keep is the text.

There is exactly one different path and we'll name it: in the internal console we use to rework a book by hand, a photo can be stored and used as a visual reference for the illustrations. It is not part of buying a book and it does not happen unless you ask us for it.

Your order

Which book you bought, in which language, the amount, the currency, the payment status, the identifiers our payment provider returns and, where applicable, the gift note or the shipping address. Your card details never touch our servers and we do not store them: the entire charge happens at Creem (see section 5).

Support

The report we save when you tell us about a problem, so a human can read it. The help panel — the FAQ and the status of your orders — runs with no artificial intelligence and sends nothing anywhere. If the assistant chat is also open, what you write there does travel to the model (section 5) and is stored.

Waitlist and free chapter

If you leave your email so we can tell you when the printed edition ships, we store the address and which page you left it on. If you request the sample chapter, we store the generated chapter alongside your email, so you can read it again and so we don't pay to generate it twice.

Technical data

The server keeps operational logs (IP address, browser, date and time, what was requested). We use them to diagnose errors and detect abuse, not to profile you.

3. What we use it for

Writing and illustrating your book: the main purpose, and the only one that needs birth details.
Delivering it: keeping it in your account, showing it in the reader, letting you download the PDF.
Charging you and keeping the record of the order.
Emailing you about your order: payment received, book ready, waitlist confirmed, and the report you opened in support received. Service email, not marketing.
Helping you when you write to support.
Keeping the service running: security, backups and fixing bugs.

The legal basis is the contract (buying the book) for everything needed to deliver it, and your consent for what is optional: the waitlist, the free chapter, and any other person's details you enter.

What we never do: sell your data, rent it, hand it to data brokers, use it for advertising, publish your book, or show it to anyone but you.

4. Other people's data, and children's

A couples or family book is written from the details of people who are not the buyer. When you enter someone else, you are stating that you may: because they agreed, or because you are their parent or legal guardian. That is your responsibility, not ours, and we ask you to show them this policy.

New-baby and family books include minors by design. Their details are always entered by an adult with parental authority or legal guardianship. The service is meant for people 18 or older, and accounts are for them — though we verify nobody's age: Google sign-in doesn't tell us. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we delete it.

If you appear in a book someone else bought and you want your data deleted, write to support@celestialbound.com and we will do it.

5. Who we share it with

We sell nothing. But the book does not write itself: some providers process this data on our behalf and only for what it is needed here. This is all of them, and what each one sees:

The birth chart itself is calculated by a service we own: that part never leaves our own infrastructure. The place of birth autocomplete doesn't expose you either: the lookup goes through our server, so whoever supplies us city names sees a loose query and never your IP address.

We may also hand over data if a competent authority lawfully orders us to, and nothing else.

6. Outside Costa Rica

All of those providers are outside the country, mostly in the United States and the European Union, which means your data is processed abroad. We pick providers that contractually commit to protecting it, but if that does not work for you, this service is not for you: without them there is no book.

7. Cookies and measurement

First, because it's what matters most: we don't sell your data, we don't advertise, we place no social-media pixels, and nobody is buying a profile of you here.

What we do use is Google Analytics, on the home page and in the app, to know how many people arrive and which pages they read. It sets its own cookies (_ga) and tells Google your IP address, your browser and which pages you visited. It does not read your book or your birth details: it measures pages, not content. The internal console we work in doesn't carry it, on purpose.

Also, signing in with Google and loading its typefaces means Google may set its own cookies. That is governed by Google's policy, not this one.

And ours, which are two and follow you nowhere:

cb_session — one cookie, strictly necessary, that keeps you signed in. It is httpOnly, so no script can read it. It is cleared when you log out.
cb_lang — not a cookie: a preference saved in your own browser to remember whether you read in Spanish or English. It never leaves your device.

8. How long we keep it, and how to delete all of it

As long as you have an account. Your book and the data behind it are kept so you can open it again whenever you want — that is what you bought.

When you want it gone, you delete it yourself, without asking us and without waiting for anyone: go to your account and use "Delete account". It runs immediately and cannot be undone. This is what leaves our systems:

Your account and any open sessions.
The profiles holding the birth details, yours and those of the people you entered.
Your books entire: the text, the PDF, the cover and the plates, including the files stored on the server.
The physical description and the reference photo, if there was one.
Your orders, your support conversations and your address on the waitlist.

What we can't promise is that it vanishes from the universe in that second. The rows go immediately; the files — PDF, illustrations, reference photo — go right after, and if a store doesn't answer at that moment the failure is logged and we finish it by hand. A copy may also sit in backups for a bounded time, and copies at the providers in section 5 (the email Resend sent you, the invoice at Creem) follow their own retention.

Three things stay on purpose, and we'll name them all:

Payment records, for accounting and tax obligations — and they also live at Creem, who issued the invoice.
The marker that your email already used its free chapter. The chapter itself is deleted; only the address remains, indefinitely, so that deleting and remaking an account isn't a way to claim free chapters forever. If you want that gone too, write to us and we'll do it.
One cost row per generated book (what it cost, which model, how many calls). On deletion we strip the identifier that carried your name, so it no longer says whose it was.

Server logs are kept briefly and only for diagnostics and security. We don't promise you an exact window, because today there is no fixed rotation we could guarantee.

If you'd rather we did it, or you want only part of it deleted, write to support@celestialbound.com.

9. Your rights

Law 8968 gives you the right to access your data, correct it if it is wrong, update it and ask for it to be deleted. You may also withdraw any consent you gave, at any time, without explaining why.

Deletion needs no request: it is in your account, under "Delete account", and it runs by itself (section 8). For everything else — access, correction, a copy of what's yours — write to support@celestialbound.com from your account email. We answer within the five business days the law requires. There is no charge for this.

If you think we did not answer properly, you can complain to Costa Rica's Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB).

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, write to the same address. There the regulation also gives you the right to restrict processing, to object to it and to take a copy of what's yours in a machine-readable format, and the response window is one month. You may complain to your country's data protection authority.

Your data is processed outside the EU (section 6). Today the basis for that transfer is each provider's contractual commitments; if you want to know which applies to which, ask at that address and we'll tell you.

10. Security

The whole site runs over HTTPS, the session cookie is httpOnly, and every account can only read its own profiles, orders and books — enforced on the server, not merely hidden in the interface. No system is perfect, though; if there is ever a breach that affects you, we will notify you as the applicable law requires.

11. Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes. If the change is substantive — new data, a new provider, a new use — we email you before it takes effect.
